Sony today announced and will soon make available for sale two new units for the VAIO Z Series: the VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VAIO VPCZ11X9E.

The Sony VAIO VPCZ11Z9E includes Core i7-620m CPUs from 2.66GHZ up to 3.33GHZ in speed, and include a hefty 6GB of DDR3 RAM each, a 13.1 inch (1920 x 1080) LED screen that sounds pretty nice and a 256GB Quad SSD as well for ultra fast seek times.

Meanwhile, the Sony VAIO VPCZ11X9E features Core i7-620m processors from 2.4GHz to 2.93GHZ in horsepower and 4GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB Quad SSD, and a 13.1-inch (1600 x 900) LED.

Expect these in stores/websites around mid-March 2010 and average around the $1,000 mark or so, which is tame compared to previous Sony pricing models.

It’s mega-slick, stylish, and has some muscle behind it to back up the looks. Specs include: a 16.4-inch LCD display, a Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a ATI Radeon HD 4650 512MB graphics card, (up to) 8GB RAM (default is 4GB), your choice of a 500GB HDD or 256GB SSD, Blu-ray drive, Bluetooth and Windows 7 OS. Now that’s a package that can take on pretty much anything.

This slick unit starts at around $809.99.

Sony recently showed off its ‘VAIO X’ during IFA 2009 conference. No intimate details at the moment on pricing or exact availability, but it will feature an 11.1″ screen, and a brand new “all-day” battery design exclusive to this line. It also looks really small and slick.

Sony will make its new Sony VAIO W netbook avaiilable for your greedy hands in early August 2009. It has an Intel Atom processor (pretty standard on these now), a 10.1-inch widescreen LCD with 1366×768 resolution, a decent 160GB hard drive, and Microsoft Windows XP included.

The Sony VAIO W series can be obtained with several very contemporary shades of color: berry pink, sugar white and cocoa brown. The units will retail for around $500, a very nice price point for Sony.

The Sony VAIO NW is its name, and this stylish package comes in three colors: walnut brown, birch white and rattan silver, and has a sizable 15.5-inch widescreen HD display with 1,366 x 768 resolution too. Style hasn’t ever been a problem with Sony, to be fair….their laptops have always looked pretty nice. But the insides of this one are just as nice.

More specs include a Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card, a nice chunky 4GB of RAM, a cavernous 400GB hard drive, webcam, Blu-ray drive built-in, WiFi, Bluetooth, an HDMI port, and Windows Vista OS.

The VAIO NW notebook will be released at the end of the month and will start at around $880. Not bad at all, Sony.
