Here, Sony seems to have gotten better with both.

Sony today announced and will soon make available for sale two new units for the VAIO Z Series: the VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VAIO VPCZ11X9E.

The Sony VAIO VPCZ11Z9E includes Core i7-620m CPUs from 2.66GHZ up to 3.33GHZ in speed, and include a hefty 6GB of DDR3 RAM each, a 13.1 inch (1920 x 1080) LED screen that sounds pretty nice and a 256GB Quad SSD as well for ultra fast seek times.

Meanwhile, the Sony VAIO VPCZ11X9E features Core i7-620m processors from 2.4GHz to 2.93GHZ in horsepower and 4GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB Quad SSD, and a 13.1-inch (1600 x 900) LED.

Expect these in stores/websites around mid-March 2010 and average around the $1,000 mark or so, which is tame compared to previous Sony pricing models.

We all know when you’re doing business on the road, that you need a notebook computer that can handle the stress of travel and perform well without weighing you down. This Sony notebook is small in size but packs serious power and it’s designed for today’s busy executive in mind. With the VAIO VGN-Z590UAB, you’ll get a notebook that’s built for the rugged business world. At a mere 3.31 pounds the carbon fiber shell makes this computer light yet durable as is the 13.1″ scratch-resistant XBRITE-DuraView LCD display. However this notebook offers more than just a tough exterior, because it also features a robust 2.53GHz Intel Centrino 2 processor with a 6MB L2 cache and a hybrid graphics system to quickly select graphics performance without needing to reboot. You’ll appreciate how well this computer renders graphics so smoothly thanks to the 256MB graphics card, which is matched perfectly with 4GB of memory along with 2 64GB solid state drives for a super fast 128GB of storage. Don’t worry about security ether, because this Sony ultra-portable has you covered with a Biometric fingerprint sensor along with anti-virus and recovery software.
