It is scheduled to start at the $299.99 mark, this entry-level ultra-portable laptop will features a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 LED screen, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, a Intel GMA 3150 graphics card built-in, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, webcam, WiFi, a 3-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter OS.

It’s slick but fairly basic, but the price tag is very suitable for most any budget, a welcome cry for Gateway fans across Canadian waters.

Verizon is poised to release the Gateway LT2016U (which to be fair, is the Acer Aspire One D250 with Gateway clothing over it).

Features: a 10.1-inch display with 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk drive, webcam, and Microsoft Windows XP Home (standard on many netbooks nowadays). It also has a Qualcomm Gobi 3G module which supports internally both CDMA EVDO and EDGE/UMTS/HSPA 3G data courtesy of Verizon.

The Gateway LT2016U will be priced at $249.99 after $100 rebate with 2-year contract agreement, so there’s a bit of a “catch”, but the price is tough to beat.

Gateway has released out a strong, highly affordable notebook with the NV5807u. This system offers a 15.6-inch Ultrabright LED-backlit screen with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, a 2.10GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 processor (plenty of muscle), an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 (the only weak link as far as we can tell), 4GB memory, a 320GB HDD, a webcam, DVD burner, Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, WiFi and 6-cell battery for decent battery life. Very strong set of specs.

Best of all: its very reasonable retail price: the Gateway NV5807u will sell for $599.99.
